The AICASA Community Enrichment Program is proud to announce the following life-learning courses:
An Introduction to Astronomy. Dr. Samuel T. Jones (Astronomer and Physics Professor, AICASA).
This beginner-level course will consist of 5 evening classes from 6-8:00pm on Jan 20, 27; Feb 3, 10, and 17. Major topics covered will be: The use of starcharts and telescopes; scale of the solar system, galaxy and universe; properties of the Sun, planet, moon, nearby stars and other objects within our galaxy. No Course Fee. Limit: 20, Age Limit: 14+
An Introduction to Water Color Using Shapes and Light Values. Mr. Stephen Murphy (Antiguan Painter). This four-session course will introduce students to the basics of watercolor painting. No previous experience is necessary. The class will meet from 7-9:00pm on the following evenings: January 23, 24, 26 and 27. Course Fee (includes all materials): $135EC. Limit: 10, Age Limit: 18+
An Introduction to Bridge. Ms. Teresia Matthews (Experienced Bridge Player)
Bridge is a game of skill, communication and possibilities, full of strategy and tactics. Have you ever wished to play? This is your opportunity to learn. No experience is necessary. The course will be offered 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesdays and Fridays for a period of 8 weeks commencing January 18. No Course Fee. Limit: 20, Age Limit: 16+
Ornithology Basics and Beginning Birdwatching. Dr. Jorge A. Moreno (Biologist, AICASA)
Come learn all about birds, from their origins, to distributions to diversity. This course will introduce the student to basic avian biology and the fundamentals of birdwatching. The class will meet on Thursday evenings 6:30-7:30pm on January 26, and February 2, 9 and 16. Course Fee (includes a field guide): $70EC. Limit: 10, Age Limit: 18+. One field trip is required.
